I'm Ben Shaw, a web developer and AI builder based in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. I run BMS Services as a solo founder, designing and building everything myself: the architecture, the UI, the AI systems, and the automations that tie it together.
I got into web development after seeing how many good local businesses were invisible online, losing work to competitors with a basic Wix site and better Google rankings. That frustration became the starting point. I taught myself Next.js, TypeScript, and how to build fast, custom sites that actually generate enquiries.
Web design opened every other door. Clients who trusted me with a site would ask what else I could fix: reviews, lead follow-up, reporting. Each problem led to a product. BMS Services became the platform for all of it: a growth partner that audits your operation and builds the AI structure to run it more efficiently.
Friday AI came from my own need as a solo founder: a WhatsApp assistant that manages my day, delivers a morning brief, and makes sure nothing slips. It's the most technically complex thing I've built, and it runs every morning. The next step is making it available to other founders.
